Portrait of Zen

I'm Zen, a software engineer passionate about AI, mindfulness, and the intersection of technology and philosophy.

I've been fascinated by the intersection of technology and human consciousness since I first learned to code. What started as curiosity about how computers process information evolved into a deeper exploration of how artificial intelligence might mirror—or completely transcend—human thought patterns.

My journey into software engineering began during my philosophy studies, where questions about the nature of mind and consciousness led me to explore how we might replicate these processes in silicon. I spent countless hours reading papers on neural networks, machine learning, and cognitive science, trying to understand the fundamental principles that govern intelligence itself.

Today, I work as a senior software engineer specializing in AI and machine learning systems. But beyond the technical work, I'm deeply committed to approaching technology development with mindfulness and ethical consideration. I believe that as we build increasingly powerful AI systems, we have a responsibility to ensure they serve humanity's highest aspirations.

When I'm not coding, you'll find me meditating, reading philosophy, or exploring the natural world. I'm particularly drawn to Buddhist philosophy and its insights into the nature of consciousness—perspectives that I find surprisingly relevant to designing intelligent systems. I also enjoy photography, hiking, and practicing mindful living in all its forms.

Through this website, I share my thoughts on technology, philosophy, mindfulness, and the ongoing quest to build AI systems that are not just intelligent, but wise. I believe that the future of technology depends not just on our technical capabilities, but on our wisdom in applying them.
